The TAFE Directors Australia National Scholarships Foundation operates in association with TDA members. TDA members are public providers of technical and vocational education (TAFEs) and TAFE Divisions of dual sector universities in Australia.
TAFEs provide scholarship places to students assist in administering the scholarship program.
Funds are raised through a number of means, including industry sponsorship and donations, gifts provided by individuals including TAFE graduates, events conducted through TAFE Institutes, major fundraising activities such as gala dinners and through philanthropy.
The TDA National Scholarships Foundation, a company limited by guarantee, acts as trustee for the TDA National Scholarships Foundation Trust. The Foundation is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient organisation and is a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

Mick Young Scholarships continue to be provided to eligible motivated students who are experiencing financial hardship.
In 2014 the Foundation introduced merit-based scholarships, known as TAFE National Achievemnet Scholarships which recognise and weward students who demonstrate excellence in their educational pursuits.
